The deadline for entering new businesses into the Startups 100 2018 index has now been extended until 3 April, giving entrepreneurial business owners a little more time to get their enterprise on the list.
Now in its ninth year, Startups 100 is the longest-running ranking of its kind and its ambition is to celebrate the UK’s most disruptive, promising and exciting early-stage businesses launched in the last three years.
Many businesses that have featured on the list in the past nine years have gone on to achieve global success and have become household names, such as Notonthehighstreet.com, Deliveroo and Hello Fresh. In addition to recognition in an industry-renowned index, Startups 100 companies have the ability to attract new clients, receive free PR on a national scale and secure investment.
Last year’s top-rated business, eve Sleep, has already gone on to cement its position as one of the most aspirational businesses in the UK as it has formed a partnership with Mothercare for Finnish-style baby boxes.
Between them, the businesses featured on the 2017 index had 2,187 members of staff and an average turnover of £1.64 million. The organisers are hopeful that the 2018 list will be even bigger and better.
To be eligible for the Startups 100 2018, a business must be UK-based and privately owned, and must have launched on, or after, January 1 2015. It must have an innovative unique selling point, potential for growth and global ambitions.
The index will be announced on 21 May 2018.
