Chinese e-commerce giant, Alibaba, has launched its global pitching competition, called the Create@Alibaba Cloud Start-up Contest (CACSC), in a bid to find the top global internet entrepreneurs.

First launched in 2015, this year’s competition will see regional contests held across the globe, including in the US, France, Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, India, and Australia, as well as the UK.

UK-based entrepreneurs have until 7 June to enter the UK regional stage of CACSC, which will be held in London. At the final UK heat on 14 June, one winner out of the seven top shortlisted entrants will be chosen for the world final to be held in Shanghai.

All of the short-listed entrants will be eligible for Alibaba Cloud’s international start-up programme, Create @Alibaba Cloud. Regional winners will also receive $10,000 credit in cloud resources one month of hot desk usage at Cocoon Networks, access to Alibaba’s investment interviews and recommendation by VC investors.

Meanwhile, the overall winner of the UK region will receive an additional $50,000 to spend on Alibaba Cloud products and services and an invitation to the world final, where they will meet the top investment firms and get coverage by global media. They will also be offered three months of free working space by Cocoon Networks.

To be eligible, firms must be registered in Europe or Israel, and must not be more than five years old or a public listed company. Their average revenue must be less than $500,000 and they must have a clear business model, innovative products and good potential for growth.
