National enterprise campaign StartUp Britain has announced that its tour bus will set off for the fifth year on Monday 13 June as part of an effort to boost the UK’s entrepreneurial spirit and persuade more people to go into business.

Every day Start Up Britain staff will invite entrepreneurs on-board to give free advice and to be the faces of the campaign in the local media. However, this year, the organisers say they want to go further in celebrating and supporting entrepreneurs.

According to a spokesman, they would like to use entrepreneurs’ latest products and services as much as possible during the tour, helping to keep the team on the road and as exciting giveaways to visitors to the bus. They say that this will help start-ups to conduct an intensive road test of their product or service while benefiting from free publicity. Therefore, any start-ups in the business of car hire, food or drink production, printing or entertainment should contact StartUp Britain and volunteer their help.

This year the StartUp Tour will have a local flavour, with energetic entrepreneurs recruited in each town to get on board and give advice. Also on-board will be representatives of national partners including the Intellectual Property Office, the National Enterprise Network and the British Library Business & IP Centre Network.

The bus will start in London’s Spitalfields Market and will then tour the UK, visiting 30 major towns and cities along the way, including Brighton, Chelmsford, Norwich, Carlisle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Darlington, Canterbury, Liverpool, Cardiff, Truro and Newcastle. It finally returns to London on July 29.
